Planning your actions around a factor as uncontrollable as the singularity was going to accomplish nothing other than unneeded stress, for you base your contentment on something you cannot give yourself. Your current situation is a net improvement over that.

just do what makes you happy, as long as it doesn't hurt others its all good.

This is a good lesson for a lot of young people entering the job force or deciding what to do with their lives.

If the singularity does take place then ALL jobs will be disrupted in a relatively short period of time. The plumbers and carpenters of the world will be safe until, of course, a super intelligence figures out a way to replace them too. You're only hope if that an intelligence smarter than any human that's ever lived, works 24/7 with no breaks and thinks near the speed of light simply fails to figure out near flawless human level robotics.

The solution? Just do what you enjoy doing right now. If the singularity doesn't happen then you're golden and if it does then we're all in this together for better or worse and worrying just means you suffer twice.

I have this fear but its for the general collapse of capitalist society and supply chains so im convinced i need to buy some land where i can grow food all year round.. cant shake it

Modern farming isn't isolated. Supply chain collapse means farming collapse as well. Farming equipment, fertilizers, energy and water all have to be self sufficient for your plan. Something that's out of reach for many.

Even if you did, there is still the need of security. Some people or even the government can simply take over.
