Wonder if that will happen to us with Andromeda.

I was just wondering this too! I read somewhere that there is already a "dust bridge" of sorts between us, so maybe!

Imagine during a galaxy merge, being on a planet around one of the unlucky stars that gets flung outside of the new galaxy, cursed to drift alone for all eternity. The night sky gradually getting ever darker until one night you look up and realize you can no longer see any other stars at all. Terrifying.

Yes that will prolly take 5 Billion years tho.

I imagine living on a planet in one of the systems on the bridge right now and seeing 2 "Milky Ways" on both horizons at night. That would be awesome.

Must've been awesome for any interstellar aliens in those galaxies to have had an intergalactic highway to another galaxy

Countless worlds whos parent stars will be cast into the vast intergalactic spaces.

Bridge of Stars sounds almost like a wormhole (Einstein Rosen bridge)
