I think MLS ever wants to compete with leagues around the world, in viewers and drawing international talent, they need to adopt a similar format to European leagues and scrap the playoffs.

Yep and put more effort into making the US Open Cup into a bigger deal.

Edit: Or have the conference champions go into a final.

Relegating teams to put them in the toilet would definitely help. Get rid of the weak.
