I have to assume that votes have been counted and there are at least 24 owners willing to force Snyder out. There is no way his ego would allow him to admit defeat unless he had no choice.

Good riddance. He is definitely the worst owner in major North American professional sports. And that's saying a lot, as there is no shortage of competition for that title.

Edit to add: Everyone jumping in here with other shitty owners who they think are worse than Snyder are just wrong. Like I said, there are a ton of awful owners. But only Snyder sued his own season ticket holders. And only Snyder swindled his his own season ticket holders.

When I moved to DC in the 1980’s everyone talked about the Redskins everywhere. People at the grocery store would talk to each other about the games. You’d see Redskins flags everywhere, and there was always chatter at work about the team. The news was always fun to read articles about the team, and it was a massive, shared cultural experience.

Snyder has squandered all of that since he bought the team. Entire generations of kids have grown up thinking the Redskins are losers and either don’t care about football at all, or root for some other team. Hardly anyone talks about the team at work, amongst friends, or in bars. Most people I know who have gone to games in the last 10 years go to support the other team.

I’ve never seen such destruction of goodwill and a tearing down of a cultural icon in such a short period of time. But here we are.

I hope they sell and leave town.

The only reason is because of the size of the fan base. The Cowboys are never “poised for a deep playoff run.” I used to love to hate them. But they have been bad for so long it’s not even sporting anymore. How I sport in g is it? It would be like waiting for a three legged dog to get up off the ice only to hit it with a stick and wait for it to try to get up again. It’s that UNSPORTING. But, good luck cowboys, I hope you and the raiders finally do something.

Also: the dez Bryant playoff game was a catch.

The other possibility I saw mentioned was minority stake with a pathway to majority ownership as a means to "go out on his own terms" so to speak. He wouldn't be subject to expulsion by owners' vote, and would be forced to sell the team due to any public pressure.

I'm still skeptical that it is anything of note, such as full sale of the team. That's much too much to hope for as a Washington fan.
