Yes, the same legal theory underpinning Nic Cage’s long conviction in Con-Air. Fair is fair

Head coaches should only serve a single World Cup anyways. Much less a coach that proves inadequate to the task.

It had to have been Rapinoe that called this in

I’m conflicted how to feel about this with the information given. Yes domestic abuse is bad and should be punished accordingly but this seems unnecessary. Has something else occurred recently that shows a pattern of violence? Why has an event from 30+ years ago that the involved parties have since reconciled matter today? Confused.

30 years ago and they have since got married. Seems ridiculous.

Not seems. It is ridiculous. I hope the investigation is into who has an axe to grind and is trying to drag him and his now wife through the mud. Married for over 25 years and having to relive a horrible moment in the public’s eye. Disgusting.
Edit: it was Claudio Reyna and his wife. Just fucked over his son for sure. Hopefully he loses his job at Austin FC.

It was Gio Reyna's parents. Talk about Toxic Helicopter parents. This amounts to blackmail to try to get your kid in the starting 11

Yep. Fuck them both. Hopefully Austin FC will fire his ass immediately.

More info has come out. Gio Reyna’s mom spilled the beans because of Gregg’s comment about Gio after the WC.
Peak helicopter mom and not good for anyone involved.
Danielle Reyna said in a statement on Wednesday: "I thought it was especially unfair that Gio, who had apologized for acting immaturely about his playing time, was still being dragged through the mud when Gregg had asked for and received forgiveness for doing something so much worse at the same age."

Yeah, she's batshit. Who on earth (A) thinks this is a good idea and (B) tells everyone you did it?
You dredged up a 30+ year old story you weren't involved with whatsoever... a situation where everyone that was involved had moved on. Sorry, not just moved on -- they forgave each other, married and had children and have been fine for 25 years. And this whacko did all this because she thought her son was unfairly being called out for being "immature"?!
What? Like, what level of sociopath are you that you pull a move like that?
Also... these people are close friends since college! Yikes.

Easy answer. People are petty and have malicious intentions to further their own personal agenda with damaging information. I bet if i tried to run for any political position, that time i shit in a pool when i was 8 at day camp would be brought up somehow.

As if an adult cannot change, lets look for something happened 30 years ago.

I was gonna say, so what, he hit his girlfriend 30 years ago when he was 18? But then I saw it was a kick, and he’s a soccer player, so basically assault with a lethal weapon.
