Honest question, given the injuries, would you want your team to sign him to a huge contract?

Too be quite honest I wouldn’t sign him , can’t stay healthy

Risk out weighs the rewards. Especially for organizations that haven't had consistent QBs. If he walks I think he will get his asking price

Thats why i don't understand why he expects such a high contract. Like, he doesn't have the same play style as mahomes, watson, murray. He plays like a rb/qb which is more risky. More risky=less money.

Lamar is arguably much more dynamic than Murray and certainly playing much better than Watson since he’s returned.

Watson was more of a traditional pocket passer before he molested a bunch of women

Each time he’s been injured it has not been when running but either in the pocket or scrambling as the pocket collapses. Also, he’s running it far less often that he did in 2018.

Mahomes, Watson and Murray have a significant amount of talent surrounding them compared to Lamar. You’re under estimating the impact that has on his decision making and play style.

His play style is risky. Way more likely to get injured during the season then the other qbs i mentioned.

The team are shit without him and he’s the best QB in franchise history, it would be dumb to get rid of him for someone inevitably worse. The only issue is how much guaranteed money he’s asking for (he essentially wants a Deshaun Watson contract), which is the only reason a deal isn’t already done. The NFLPA pushing for fully guaranteed contracts paired with Jackson’s lack of agent has made these negotiations way more complicated than they needed to be (he was already offered a contract with more guaranteed money than everyone but Watson and higher APY than everyone but Mahomes, which he refused on grounds he could bet on himself this year and he wanted essentially a fully guaranteed contract (which the Ravens will never give him)

There is a difference though, Mahomes was extended after year 3. Lamar is now now on year 5. Price goes up based no that. Mahomes contract was two years ago. Price goes up year by year. They offered a below market contract.

I would not want my team to pay him what he’s asking for. Too risky. Maybe without all the guaranteed money it’d be worth it

Its like his contract negotiations depend on it… weird…

A Roquan extension would mean more than a L Jack contract at this point. Ravens bread and butter has always been a decent QB, great running game, and a stellar D.
