Moving to the Springfield area and wanting to continue our homeschool adventures. Any recommendations for a homeschool coop or homeschooling groups? We take it very seriously push our kid’s interests.
We are a military family. Been stationed primarily in the west coast.. we’ll be moving up there from Houston.
Let me do some digging. I knew of some places!
I'm not there yet with mine, but will be in the next year or so. I'm also interested in hearing about co-ops in the area! I know most of the homeschool families I know are either a part of the Classical Conversations (which I'll probably be going with for our kids) or hire professors to meet with them and a few other families children a couple times a week for various subjects.
Are you wanting religious or non-religious?
I know there’s the Homeschoolers In Service one that meets on the north side of Springfield I’ve heard good things about. That’s a Christian group.
Woven Bramble Homeschool Community is secular, I don’t know anything about them but that’s what Google told me.
I can look and find a couple local homeschool FB groups to recommend - I won’t be homeschooling for a couple more years but I’ve joined some just to figure out what I’ll wind up doing to stay legal with it. Missouri does require record keeping and minimum hour requirements. Missouri Homeschoolers is a good one to join, they discuss a lot of the state requirements.
Thanks for the suggestions. We've been homeschooling for 12 years now across several states. We're all too familiar with state requirements. We we trying to stay secular. But we've been a part of many secular homeschool coops before.
The park board has a lot of homeschool programs
We’ve got a few awesome ones! Stewart’s Farm Co-op, Sunflower Co-op (The Village), Woven Bramble, School of the Wild, Millsap Farms and Ozark Mountain Homeschool group. I’m sure there are more! I’d be able to add you to some FB groups if you want to PM me!

417 Unschoolers Adventure Club is a great one for an inclusive, secular environment. (All sects of homeschooling welcome - you don’t have to unschool to be a part of the group). You can find them on FB.
