Train gets better gas milage than the tanks.

Roller skating along pouring kerosene on the ground is almost better gas mileage than tanks get. The literally get .6 miles to the gallon.

.6 mpg moving 16,000 tons of cargo. Try doing that in a semi truck.

Trains get like 500 mpg.

Trains do not get 500 mpg, that’s a per ton measurement. So a loaded coal train ~16,000 ton, get about .03 miles per gallon of diesel.

We have an armory in Springfield. You can drive down Fremont/Pythian and see more if you’d like.

Years ago at 6 am I was driving past this bridge and I thought I saw the same thing. I tried to tell family and friends but they didn't believe me.

Now I know I was right.

Checks out with the Ukranian flight someone spotted over Springfield the other day. Guess they’re (Ukranians) training on those tanks right now

How do you know there was a Ukrainian flight overhead? Do online flight trackers recognize military flights from other allied nations?

sourdoughbreadlover t1_j6zk89c wrote

Yes. Someone posted about it yesterday on this sub.

Springfield airport is not large enough for the type of military transports they move tanks overseas with.

ho1doncaulfield t1_j76vgrk wrote

Right. There’s military bases in Kansas and Oklahoma where they do all kinds of training. That’s probably where the tanks are going. Ukrainians came to train on the Patriot Missile system just last month

Are you sure this photo is from today? Similar was posted on fb group. It amazes me how many people live by train tracks and have never saw military equipment on a train.

This is probably more common than we would expect. I remember seeing this fairly regularly as a kid at a time when the country was involved in no overseas conflicts.

I think that there were some going through ICT a few weeks ago on trains.

A couple of years ago I saw them on the tracks coming up alongside Highway 60 by Marionville and Billings.

My work is right next to those tracks and it's pretty common. I've seen lots of military and crazy things on the trains.
