I recommend the Missouri Institute of Natural Science. It's a great little museum with lots of fossils and minerals to look at. There's even dinosaur bones (from Wyoming, not Missouri) that are super cool.

Edited to add: it's also a free museum, so there is no admission.

You could visit the art museum. The Library Center usually has stuff going on. Catch a movie. See Avatar - that's almost four whole hours indoors with some tasty popcorn.

Or, do one of my favorite things and play Mall Walker Bingo. Make a little bingo card and fill it with things like: Lady Who Has Way Too Many Kids, Old Lady Mall Walking Group, Dude Holding His Wife's Purse, Clandestine Job Interview, Couple Holding Hands, Awkward Dad at Hot Topic, Embarrassed Guy at Victoria's Secret, Drug User Nodding Off. It's fun!

Movie. A man called Otto

Edit. The movie run time is two hours and it could have been longer and I wouldn’t have noticed.

They refuse to pay overtime by citing “exemption” because all employees are classified as part-time and seasonal, which is just a huge labor law violation.

If you take off more than 4 days in a row between March and October then you are automatically fired, even if all shifts are covered and you are not needed. I had a coworker who had to go out of state for a funeral and they fired them because they couldn’t get a flight back soon enough.

They say that they are pro conservation, but have completely destroyed that cave and any potential habit that it would have had.

Make their employees work in flooded and dangerous conditions inside the cave.

The granddaughter of the owners is a manager and is a major bitch and yells at everyone, even if they did nothing wrong.

And also they have never hired a non-white employee ever. I watched many apply and all were rejected because they didn’t fit the “Ozarks” look.

I'm the same way. I used to love stopping at Slice of Pie anytime I was in Rolla until the day I went in and the owner went on a rant in front of his employees and customers about how he shouldn't have to pay minimum wage because he could train a monkey to do their jobs.

Springfield Leather has a lot of crystals, gems, rocks if you like that stuff! Really beautiful. I like hanging out in coffee shops around here too, can people-watch or work on things, sometimes there’s nice people to talk to. Societea is also nice. Thrift stores. Could go look at The Acoustic Shoppe if you like music, they’re really cool.
