My soon-to-be roommate and I are about to get our first apartment and are going to need to go furniture shopping soon. We both have pretty retro tastes — mid-century modern, 60s, and 70s furniture is very our style, as well as anything with bright vibrant colors.
Does anybody know any used furniture stores with stuff like this? We’re willing to travel decently far out of town if there’s something worth checking out.

Check out Second Sittings…they do a sale once every few months in the shopping center by Save A Lot on Commercial, but they also sell from this website:

If you don't mind a road trip there are a lot of mid century furniture resale stores in KC
Hey! Shameless self plug, I sell vintage and I specialize in funky/colorful from the 60s-70s. I have a couple pieces I haven’t even listed yet including a 1969 teal and lime green tweed sleeper sofa for $250. Go to hakaars on commercial if you're down for resell prices. What I personally like to do is beat them to the punch and go to estate sales.
Talked to them one day, obviously they do estate sales. But they mention they travel up to 13 hours for stuff, crazy radius. So while I'm sure they do local, they go all over the region.
Yeah I believe that. Not bad stuff, cool stuff, but would I rather wait and find it for twenty bucks at an estate sale? Hell to the yeah I would.

But also - they are expensive because they curate and only have the best pieces
If you are on a budget I recommend watching auctionzip and EstateSales.net - I have gotten some awesome mid century pieces this way and also at garage sales or church rummage sales
It’s a bit of a grind to check local thrift and “antique malls” but you can sometimes find good value there as well
Also don’t discount the old Facebook marketplace

There’s a place on the square in Marshfield, but I don’t know what it’s called. Bissman furniture was built here in Springfield, so it’s most abundant vs Haywood Wakefield.
