Have used Republic services going on 10years now. Have no complaints about them, except their prices have been going way up and thinking about switching. Am curious about the other companies in town (Queen City Disposal to name one) what’s your experience?
Second Ozark Refuse. They have been great. Only “issue” we have had with them in 2 years is they didn’t come by when the roads were solid ice, but I say “issue” because I understand why they didn’t run their trucks.
Heads up, they post updates on their Facebook page when service will be delayed like this.
Right. We just left our trash out and they picked it up by the day after, which was fine.
Thirded. They’ve been really great. Just recently moved back to Springfield and got them at my neighbor’s recommendation.
Also, their cans are newer. That might mean something to someone. LOL
Seconded. They've been super reliable and transparent with me. They also haven't raised the price in the several years I've been with them.
Stay far away from WCA.
They have been great. I was in one of the neighborhoods where Republic did not pick up for weeks. Very happy mine was always gone! No price increases
Second Ozark Refuse. We've had them for a few years and never a problem.
Ozark refuse is amazing.
I switched from republic services to Queen City. Republic services would just raise my prices without notice or reason. Love Queen City! They are priced well and are easy to deal with.
Seconded. And nearly half the price Republic was charging me. From $118 down to $67.
Switched to Ozark Refuse almost a year ago and I’ve been very pleased with them.
Heads up, Republic Services will try to charge you for picking up their bins. I had trash and recycling, they tried to charge me $30 per bin plus a $30 fuel/handling/whatever charge for picking them up. I wound up going to their office in person with the intent to complain but I couldn’t even make my way to being indignant before the lady there took it off my account.
I had heard this but we switched a couple months ago and they didn’t try it on us, so maybe they’ve dropped that.
They probably haven’t sent it out to you yet. I got mine five months after I canceled my account.
Wow. I did get a refund check already for services we had paid for.

I use Pendergrass and I have not had any issues.
Also switched to Pendergrass when republic jacked up our rates several months ago. No issue here, but their billing system is a bit antiquated.
Their billing system is my only complaint. However, I’d rather have that than my prices raised every few months.
I do the autopay monthly and the one time I didn’t have enough money in my account they called me and I realized I forgot about it and got paid the next day, they said that’s fine and just ran it the next day. I thought that was really nice.
I use Queen City they seem good enough, I am pleased.
We use Queen City - they are always nice when we call and service is reliable
Except when we had ice - and I wasn’t out driving so I didn’t really expect them to.
I’m a big fan of Moore’s Trash Service. Small, locally owned, and very reliable. Not the type where you can call them constantly because they’re so small, but that doesn’t bother me.
I've actually had so many issues with them. They kept billing us incorrectly and it took us 2 weeks to finally get ahold of them to correct the issue.
They also never gave us a holiday schedule and they ended up just skipping some weeks.
Yep. They’re not for everyone, and that’s okay. They’ve been great for me. I’ve never had any billing issues whatsoever, but if I did, I’m sure they’d be reasonable even if it took us a while to actually get ahold of them. They’re just a normal family running a small business. It’s not like GFL OR Republic Services would be with all kinds of fancy stuff that costs more. My family has been using them for like 10 years. They’re the most reasonable people on the planet, but they can’t provide a corporation style service. I don’t want that anyway.
I've had the same issues with MTS as asssshhhhleyyyy. I absolutely want to support locally owned businesses and have no problem with missing out on amenities that the corporate trash services provide, but we've had MULTIPLE times where they just don't pick up our trash that week. That's not a "they're not for everyone" issue. I mean, that's the primary service they provide! At least update the FB page when the schedule is off. Almost all small, family-run businesses do that.
I’ve never had them skip other than a weather day or a holiday. And we try really hard to RRR ♻️, so we always have extra space in our bins if they have to skip a week. Sure, most small businesses cater to you and never miss, but not all are able. If my husband and I and maybe my sis in law were running a growing small business, I’d hope that my patrons would be understanding especially when I was in a growth spurt. I think they’re great. I don’t understand the whole need for perfection thing. As long as there is an effort to be the most affordable and I’m not being put out, we’re good. I would still recommend them to anyone I know.

Queen City. We pay about $50 for 3 months of service. The only time they don’t run on schedule is when the roads are iced over. I’m very happy with them
We are switching at the end of this billing cycle as well. Have looked at both QC and OR, just not sure which one!

Ozark Refuse. Happy with them! They are more old fashioned with having a person that answers the phone and having to mail in or call your payment information. I pay $69 quarterly for small trash bin and recycling tub.
J&J is $15/month, they provided the bin. No issues.

Republic will match prices if you call them.
I had Queen City up until I moved. Loved them! Never an issue, we also used their dumpsters during remodels.
I’ve used Queen City for 4 years now with zero complaints :)
Have had good experiences with both Ozark refuse and WCA (now GFL). If you recycle they both have recycling services Ozark is a small box picked up weekly GFL is a large bin picked up every second week.
I have used Ozark refuse for 4 years and have had no problems even when someone hit my trashcan and demolished it.

I use Ozark Refuse! I like that they have transparent pricing and list it openly on their website, and offer optional curbside recycling. We just started using them last month but we've had no problems thusfar.
