Hi! Debating on asking or posting this question because I just don’t want to be judge. We will be moving to Springfield, MO and away from my primary care physician who has taken care of me since I was 12.

I have terrible, severe insomnia, and because of that I take Ambien. A lot of doctors will not give you Ambien long-term and I’m nervous that once we move down there, I won’t be able to get it and I won’t sleep.

Do you know any PCP who truly believes their patients and gives Ambien out long-term .

No, I’m not addicted. I take the pill responsible exactly how it’s supposed to be taken.

Bring your medical records or maybe a letter from your current doctor. Another MD vouching that you use it responsibly will (hopefully) go a long way.

Do you still take ambien? Just wondering if you found a solution to your problem

I stopped taking ambien!

My problem used to be that I couldn't take melatonin for more than a few days in a row and then it would stop working altogether for like a week (same with benadryl, plus that one makes me feel like shit the next day). Ambien did the job without the need to stop taking it for a while, but I was always uncomfortable taking it since everyone was always so weary about it.

Nowadays I take CBN gummies with melatonin and at least for the past.... 4 months I have been having the best sleep of my life. It works also if I take melatonin separately and vape some indica flower (I get the ones that have higher CBN levels) just before heading to bed. After switching to that, I've been able to even wake up early in the morning feeling well rested and alert.

After seeing post title:

“I don’t know man. While I’m sure drug interactions with Ambien are a serious concern, I just don’t think you should be taking PCP at all.”

Hey this is Springfield Missouri. Good luck finding the care you need. Never be embarrassed by asking for help.

If you’re having trouble finding a PCP, in the interim you might try edibles. That’s what I’ve done for my sleep issues and it’s worked wonders!

Adding to this, for assistance with sleep, make sure it has CBN along with THC.

Not what I expected this post to be about based on the title and that it’s Springfield.

You may be best off talking to Burrell mental health. A lot of primary care physicians (PCP) are very conservative with prescriptions here.

I've been using Ambien for like 10 years now, especially since it has been a generic. Of the four PCP's I've had, none of them had issues with it. I'm not sure I would fret so much about it. Shoot, my current PCP told me she would not suggest changing to something else unless I just really felt the need to. If it works,it works.

That’s how I feel! But when we moved to NJ and FL the PCPs refused to give it to me even through I was on it for 6 yrs prior. They said melatonin.

It was rough.

PCP's are like lovers. If it's not working, find another. It's not drug seeking if you truly have your health as the main concern. That may be a NJ or FL thing though. Here in MO, I get my 90 day supply w/o issues and being generic, the insurance doesn't mind too well either.

I hear you! It’s bad, I hate that I have to take a pill every night. I wish it was different. I’m sure you do also. :(

it seems like you should be able to have your doctor send a referral to a local doctor.

I know it doesn't answer your question, but if you haven't already, you might consider trying some cannabis - specifically edibles. I always had trouble sleeping, but now eat ~30mg after dinner and have no trouble getting 8hrs.

Sorry, this is the wrong Springfield so removing.

Edit: OP meant MO, just put the wrong one in the post.

Yes you can, if it's actually MO I'll reapprove it!
