This looks like it might be a lost/found animal post because it contains the word cat. Please consider posting lost and found pet to Leigh's Lost and Found. I’m all for pet rescues but that particular one is overly picky. They have some crazy expectations and requirements. Someone I know who SPOILS THE SHIT out of all the cats she’s ever had was denied by them because she previously had a cat she allowed to go outside (when they lived on a big piece of land away from roads). It’s gotten to the point that I tell people to avoid that group when looking to adopt a cat. It’s a shame, but it’s true.

Then I guess that’s it, I won’t be getting them back ever. I live on 3 acres and my pets are outside animals

It’s because they don’t want these animals back on the streets again . Whether they live on land or not they can end up by roads . What’s not to understand about that ? A lot of people don’t believe ANY animal should be left outside , even cats .

I understand that. All of it. I have 2 cats and a dog. I don’t let either of my cats out. Ever. I’m just saying that to deny someone a cat because 10+ years ago they let a cat out sometimes (and that cat lived to be 15!) is a little much.

Oh gotcha when you said previously I didn’t realize it was THAT long ago. Yeah that’s a bit much.

Just curious, if you wanted to adopt it, why take it to a rescue? Why not just take it to a vet and raise it yourself? I realize none of this helpful now, just trying to understand the thought process.

Cuz I was on the clock and I can’t leave the property, I called the vet clinic down my street to see if someone can pick it up but they referred me to whiskers

Ah oof. That sucks. I'd have tried to hide it in a cardboard box or something. Sorry you can't get it back. :(

That’s pretty standard to wait until they’re big enough but the pairing part does suck. I wonder if they do that because they are so full ? I’m sorry youre in this situation. When I saw your post I was under the impression you weren’t going to keep it . If you wanted to keep him you should’ve just taken him to the vet to get seen to make sure he was okay , then fed and kept him🥺 I think anytime you call a rescue to help with saving an animal you’d have to be put through the same process of adopting like any other person would have to go through .
