I’m all for pet rescues but that particular one is overly picky. They have some crazy expectations and requirements. Someone I know who SPOILS THE SHIT out of all the cats she’s ever had was denied by them because she previously had a cat she allowed to go outside (when they lived on a big piece of land away from roads). It’s gotten to the point that I tell people to avoid that group when looking to adopt a cat. It’s a shame, but it’s true.
Then I guess that’s it, I won’t be getting them back ever. I live on 3 acres and my pets are outside animals

Just curious, if you wanted to adopt it, why take it to a rescue? Why not just take it to a vet and raise it yourself? I realize none of this helpful now, just trying to understand the thought process.
That’s pretty standard to wait until they’re big enough but the pairing part does suck. I wonder if they do that because they are so full ? I’m sorry youre in this situation. When I saw your post I was under the impression you weren’t going to keep it . If you wanted to keep him you should’ve just taken him to the vet to get seen to make sure he was okay , then fed and kept him🥺 I think anytime you call a rescue to help with saving an animal you’d have to be put through the same process of adopting like any other person would have to go through .
It’s because they don’t want these animals back on the streets again . Whether they live on land or not they can end up by roads . What’s not to understand about that ? A lot of people don’t believe ANY animal should be left outside , even cats .
Cuz I was on the clock and I can’t leave the property, I called the vet clinic down my street to see if someone can pick it up but they referred me to whiskers
I understand that. All of it. I have 2 cats and a dog. I don’t let either of my cats out. Ever. I’m just saying that to deny someone a cat because 10+ years ago they let a cat out sometimes (and that cat lived to be 15!) is a little much.
Oh gotcha when you said previously I didn’t realize it was THAT long ago. Yeah that’s a bit much.
Ah oof. That sucks. I'd have tried to hide it in a cardboard box or something. Sorry you can't get it back. :(
