Coffee Ethic is the best!! They do have a shop, but if you don’t want to go into their coffee shop, they also sell their coffee in bags at Mama Jean’s.

+1 for Coffee Ethic.

I believe you can also buy bags of Coffee Ethic beans at Cherry Picker.

Hot tip though, if you buy a bag of beans at Coffee Ethic downtown you get a free hot or iced coffee with purchase.

Mudhouse also roasts their own and provides some local restaurants (Gailey's, Tea Bar & Bites) with their own special blends. I believe you can buy their various roasts at their shop downtown.

Full Octave Coffee in Ozark is who roasts our beans. Hubby met them at Octoberfest last weekend and we've been enjoying their fresh roasted beans this week. We had been searching for a roaster for a minute since our last one moved away.

My go-to coffee is Keen Bean, a small roaster out of Mount Vernon. Fantastic coffee, I prefer their market blend and kold brew blend.

We buy 5lb bags at a time from Tantara Farms. The family who owns it is the absolute best, and it's my favorite coffee we've ever had!

So you want a roaster who doesn’t also operate a shop? Don’t know any of those.

I only ask because I know that Echelon (at Kearney and Glenstone) for instance, roast and sell their own beans, under the ‘No Coast’ moniker - No Coast Coffee, Springfield MO (Same owner - Joe started as a roaster, the shop is the latest addition)

There are several varieties for sale at the shop, or online. I’ve not tried one I didn’t enjoy.

I’m pretty certain that one of the downtown shops is also roasting their own or at least affiliated with a local roaster, but I know less about them.

I’m good if they have a shop but I was attempting to designate so people don’t recommend something like scooters or 7 brew. I’ve ordered from Melancholy before

Coffee ethic or melancholy roasters. I like them both!

I didn’t realize brick and mortar was still in business

Yep, just had a grand reopening.

Isnt brick and mortar that one run by right wing nutjobs, or am i getting it mixed up with another shop?

Yuuuuuup you can definitely see the owner sporting a “Ronald Reagan” T-shirt upon visiting his store. I felt so awkward because I was the only one in and DIDNOT want to support anymore terrible Springfield business owners so bought a cheap coffee and never returned.

Lol well thanks for the heads up. I'll definitely check this place out and judge them by their coffee and atmosphere rather than a shirt.

Ugh, thought so. I googled the shop to see and its the same one. If i remember right their social media profiles got slammed because they were covid hoaxers, anti-vaxx, and pro Jan 6ers, but theyve kept their heads down since mostly.

International-Use340 t1_irxkwmy wrote

The reopening was actually under a new owner

Hopefully this owner is less crazy at least. I know im asking a lot for this area though.

The old owner didn't want you to use creamer, so they didn't offer it. Was my favorite thing to get coffee and go straight to my car and load it up with half n half in full view, defiant and brave... Felt so alive.

blitzalchemy t1_irxun8k wrote

Coffee elitist and Jan6 crazy... honestly that tracks, most "coffee should be drank black, no sugar or creamer" types tend to fall on that side of the political spectrum.

Speaking of feeling alive, I ended up doing my best to humiliate one of those "Repent now or burn in hell" baptist types that hold signs saying such at a local festival the other day. That was fun. Paraded around for a minute with them yelling things like "Hail Satan, our dark lord and savior" and such. They were redfaced and pissed off by the time i got bored. Plenty of high fives and fist bumps were had.

I found the new owner on social media. He's the head of a couple of small Republican groups in the area. He hasn't been active on social media (as far as I can tell) since 2018, so I don't know his opinion on COVID or January 6th, but I could probably guess...

Coffee ethic is really good, Copper Canyon Is also excellent, and Full Octave is great... I have met the owner who is really nice. I buy from all of them.
