Two rivers bike park has a lot of asphalt, does it?

I doubt you'll reach any of these folks on reddit, but I understand your concern. Same thing happens north of Springfield on Highway H, jackoffs walking, running and biking on a 55MPH two lane highway. They always look confused like I'm the first person to honk and give them the finger.

It’s just a suggestion man, there’s still greenway, dogwood, there’s the trail in Ozark that goes from the community center to the park, if they want more Road they should find a place with less blind spots and sharp turns. I only suggest because it’s closest and the cyclist are using mountain bikes as well.

All that aside I used to think you were one of the cooler redditors on this sub man but that last few months I’ve seen you on here and if I’m being honest you come off as a pot stirrer

A lot of people are oblivious and assume THEY will never be in an incident. I can tell you that earlier this year I was hit by a car on my run (they did a rolling stop while turning right at red light and it was the driver's side of the car that hit me) and I was wearing brightly colored clothing and had multiple bright lights on me to indicated 'hey person here'.

I love running roads and do so all over town (mostly Springfield) but I make sure I'm as safe as possible; running at less busy times, bright colored clothing, lights, bone transfer headsets (so I can hear the world around me), when I'm on the street running I run towards traffic, if I'm not 100% sure a car is paying attention I just wait and if it gets too busy out I reroute to a less populated area.

I cannot even tell you the amount of, mostly men, running in the dark wearing all black; mind blowing. Drivers do need to pay more attention but as runners/bike riders we need to go out with the expectation that they aren't.

I’ll give the benefit that the dude I saw at night did have a flashing light, but still it was in a part where people barely ignore the stop signs. I follow the rules but people don’t care apart from me and my parents there it seems

Totally see what your saying. I do think it comes back to that feeling of 'It won't ever happen to me' and hopefully it doesn't. There are defiantly areas I've ran once or twice but quickly marked off as no-go zones because of to many blind spots/drivers racing down the street/no or poor sidewalks.

Maybe your "2 ton rolling death machine" and speeding "car enthusiasts" are the problem and not the runners and bikers sharing the road.

You know if you want to drive an automobile there are tons of race tracks around, just google it.

We all need to share our public resources. If you think the road is unsafe for alternative forms a transportation please petition the city/county to improve infrastructure not your neighbors trying to move around their world under their own natural power.

Bypassing common sense safety procedures so you can focus on the legality of it if someone were to hit you is backwards. The point is NOT TO GET HIT IN THE FIRST PLACE so you don't have to resort to legalities. Otherwise, it's the same energy as "Screw em. If they hit me, I'll just sue." Wouldn't you like to not have to get to that point from the get go?? This is also assuming you don't get killed by being pretentious.
