Saw one the other night. Lasted for about 2 seconds then faded. The Orionid Meteor showers peaked Friday night.

That’s what I thought at first, but it says that you need to look like o the southeast if in the northern hemisphere and this was in the northeast heading the same direction.

That's where the zenith will be located - the spot in the sky they all seem to be coming from. But they should be visible at all points in the sky depending on where they hit the atmosphere.

Yup! Relatively big flash, only lasted a couple seconds. Counted myself lucky to see it, didn't know there was a shower last night.

I think that might be the same one I saw last night, I caught it in my dash cam at 9:48pm. I was driving east on I-70 from Topeka and from that perspective it was almost due east, maybe 10-20 degrees above the horizon.
