Harter house is my go to.
Harter House is usually one of the best.
Schuchmans
Horrmanns
Depends on what you are looking for. I like B's meats in Fordland.
Are you looking for whole animal or specific cuts?
Same here!
It's Springfield, MO. Dollar General for Slim Jims
Shrock's Meat Market, might be a bit of a drive by the Mennonites got ya covered.
Just quality in general cuts. Ribs, briskets, steaks etc..
Decided to go to Harter House. Kinda disappointed. Not a single prime cut of beef.
Got a decent looking ribeye, but I'll be trying somewhere else next time.
Thanks for the recommendation though!
Worden's on sunshine near the fedmed is damn good
This is the best Butcher around! Anyone behind their counter is very knowledgeable about almost everything in their store. They even carry some killer spices and exotic meats. They have a rewards program too.
Harter house is location specific. I’ve had good luck at the east gate location but the republic road one is pretty disappointing.
Schuchmann’s is where you want to go. They have prime and a few American wagyu grades of a lot of different cuts.
Did great processing beef for us.
Harter house in Nixa has a great meat case. Every time I am in at least one if not 3 people are in the back cutting steaks and other cuts.
Harter House
That explains a couple things. I'll have to check out Eastgate.
Stay away from Horrmanns prices are awful. They intentionally mislead you about quality while you can get the exact same cuts for literally half the price at the other places.
I haven't tried Schuman's Meat Company although I do know one guy that works there and I don't think he'd be there if it wasn't at least okay. This would be my first pick.
In lots of ways you'll be better off buying from Sam's, Costco or Hy-Vee. You'll have to do a bit of trimming but that would be my second pick and prices will probably be better
I didn't realize the butcher shop stayed open when the processing facility shut down a few years ago.
Dude those thick cut pork chops are a week night staple.
