I was on the fence but going to vote yes. When I got to my polling place electioneering for yes rubbed me wrong way and made me vote no. The proponents shot themselves in the foot for my vote.

Thank you, neighbor! I was actually at the polling place where Mitch Jenkins was electioneering. He was accosting every passerby with aggressive and disingenuous talking points, sometimes from across the parking lot. Definitely rubbed folks the wrong way. My wife dressed as the Lorax and we had signs, but we sat quietly and just said hello to folks as they walked by and only answered questions if we were asked. I was worried about how we would be perceived, but after watching Mitch feign sincerity with that smug, pious, nice guy schtick, I figured we were good. We actually had quite a few people thank us for being respectful and leaving them alone. Maybe they just liked our dog, but either way, we’re proud of Springfield tonight.

I vote downtown. There was only someone there for yes and no one for no. It was a woman with a baby in a stroller and there was a light drizzle. I told her this is a strange cause to be so passionate about you would electioneer with your baby in the rain. She didn’t think I was funny.
