Looking for a good optometrist that will give you your prescription (eg won’t force you to buy their over priced glasses and will give you a script to take wherever you’d like to get glasses or just lenses replaced). Looking for someone good I had a bad experience with an optometrist a few years ago they completely messed up my prescription and glasses and wouldn’t fix it.

I always go to VisionClinic and have no issues. I don't need glasses (yay me!) and they don't try to sell me anything.

I went to Heffington for my last exam and they tried to sell me super low power readers by saying that they were only available by prescription. Then they charged my insurance for a contact lens exam that they didn't do, because - again - I don't wear glasses.

I've been getting my contact lens prescription from Kevin Kickham at Eyemart Express for many years, and I've never been pressured to buy anything there (and I never do). I don't know what current exam prices are. I only go in for an exam about once every three years.

Im also a fan of Kickham at Eyemart Express. I’ve had multiple exams there and bought glasses from them and from online vendors.

Pierce is really good about that. We get the rx from them and then buy our actual glasses from Zenni

My optometrist suddenly passed away last year, so I’m interacting with this thread because I still haven’t found another. Thank you for reminding me.

I usually go to Costco - no membership needed for the prescription visit ($79 out of pocket for lens prescription, $99 for lens+contact prescription).

You DO need to be a Costco member to buy frames there though. They range from $60-$200 for a pair.

(I actually called them about their prices yesterday).

I usually buy my frames from Firmoo, but there are other online suppliers that sell inexpensive prescription glasses too.

Pearl vision on battlefield Road across from the mall. They did my appointment and handed me a prescription so I could buy my glasses elsewhere. I ended up buying my glasses there since they're done same day and my insurance covered it but very helpful and don't mind to hand you your prescription.

I've had great experiences with the vision clinic. Another optometrist gave me a prescription that was too strong, I was having headaches and getting dizzy. The Vision Clinic fixed it. They're very professional and have great high quality equipment.

Thirding Vanover Vision in Costco. He does the full exam- did the eye pressure test, let us know to check our Cholesterol (a good optometrist an give early warnings on cholesterol/diabetes/etc) and no problem getting our IPs. You do not need to be a member to get the exam (although you do need one to buy glasses there).
