GM and sons Small mom and pop shop that do decent work and they typically don’t have an issue with you bringing your own parts in
Your garage
I like MD Hickman on Scenic.
i had a 07 highlander and to replace the alternator they had to take out a lot of stuff so access it bc of how toyota organized the engine bay, it was 8 hours of labor just to take it in and out iirc. if you have the equipment, might save money but not time. guess it depends on how much you value your time. also do not go to PEP boys at all costs lmao.
Check Doug Smart at Smart Buy Tire. Campbell at Grand. Fair prices and reliable. I’ve used him for 20 years.
X3 for this. Rockauto the part and YouTube the install if your not sure
DIY it, otherwise Eaglecrest in Nixa is 75/hr.
Ken's Automotive. I don't know if it's the cheapest, but if you need to pay in installments, he's the kind of guy that would allow it.
If you buy the alternator at an O'Reilly or Auto Zone and try to change it out in the parking lot, they'll let you borrow tools and give you pointers, assuming they aren't too busy. They can pull up all the instructions and schematics at the counter.
https://youtu.be/MDKdmjSHc2U ... Here's a YouTube video on how to replace it yourself (I love 1aauto). Schulers on Chestnut is pretty cheap. I use them when I can't fix it myself or don't have time to. The caveat is they're not the fastest and they don't accept cards, but good people and very affordable.
Budget Radiator, but honestly it's not that hard to do yourself.
He can take it off and get it tested at O'Reillys or he can check the amperage if he has a volt meter.
If I just want a part swapped out, I use H&W Auto Salvage. I don't think any place charges less for labor. But I wouldn't give them anything to diagnose.
Call GPS Auto Repair. Gifford is awesome, very reasonably priced, and an all over Good Dude. Saved me 300$ on a window motor. DM me for his number.

I’d say most shops will charge the same for labor it’s just the part price. I highly recommend looking for a reputable shop instead of a cheap one.
