It's weird that people can transition so seamlessly between complaining about a facebook page that makes fun of homeless people and mentally ill locals to thrice weekly posts making fun of a guy who obviously lives in his car.

100%. I got 50+ upvotes on my posts calling those groups toxic trash, yet we get posts like those upvoted to the top every single week. It's all punching down, it's all laughing at people who are less well-off and have problems, and it's all gross.

Edit: it's even more gross when posts seeking mental help get down voted at the same time. Do better /r/springfieldMO.

Absolutely. Whoever is putting this dumb shit on here can take that classist malarkey over to fb. I used to post a comment on every one of the posts about the recycling mobile, but got not much support. So I kind of gave up on trying to reason with and/or explain empathy and compassion to the people trying to get laughs and upvotes at our local people less fortunate than us.

The user who made that submission seems highly unstable, so I wouldn't look for logic there.

Can’t speak for Helloporator, but I’m a stable genius. I’m not making fun of anyone, these folks are a Springfield delight. They bring levity to a dreary day. So give another million to James River so the can bulldoze one of the very few remaining slave quarters.

Just so we're clear. Not laughing at the guy at all. Do not know if they are homeless or not. Post was a stab at the fact that they keep getting the channels attention to the point of needing meme'd. If they're not harming anybody let em be.

It's weird to me that people try to transplant their FB drama onto Reddit.
