is anyone currently having problems with their Brightspeed service? mine has been down for almost two hours. the “broadband” light on the ONT isn’t lit and the rest of my equipment appears to be functioning properly, making me think it’s something on their end…

My service has been stable so far today.

No, I haven't experienced any outages since I had it installed three months ago.

This is the first outage we have had, but it has lasted about 7 hours now. Fortunate to still have cell phones to use as hot spots! I, too, spoke with bright speed. They said they are aware of it and have already submitted a repair ticket. Sucks, but it is still more reliable than the last guys...

thanks for verifying that it’s not just me! and i don’t mean to complain about the outage… this is the first significant one in the entire time that i have been a subscriber (which is almost two years)! i just wanted to make sure that it wasn’t anything on my end!

Oh, I am the one complaining. My life is in shambles without internet! 😜

I got in early with Quantum in July '21. I had no issues at all with their service for well over a year. I think I had one service drop (that I am aware of) in over a year and a few months.

In the last month, I have had 4 service drops that I was home for. A simple power cycle of the equipment fixed it but it doesn't give me a good feeling about Brightspeed going forward.

It's been glitchier than usual lately. Idk a whole lot about fiber systems, but cable systems historically have problems when temps change, so maybe the weather is having something to do with it. It is the first winter for a lot of their plant.

thank you all for your input! i spoke to a Brightspeed tech today and apparently there may be a service outage, as an outside facility is not receiving signal. clearly this is only affecting a subset of the customers in Springfield, but it is definitely not just me…

had it for year, never had a glitch, only downtime has been scheduled maintenance

My speeds are garbage. Called a couple times to troubleshoot/complain and get no where. Crap service and crap company.

they set one up for me in the event that they couldn’t verify an outage (the CSR kept referring to it as a “potential outage”). it will be automatically cancelled in the event that they verify an outage. scheduled for mid-afternoon. will let you know what happens.

the tech did not show up, so i am assuming that they determined it to be an outage… however, my service is still down.

This looks like it might be a post about area ISPs because it contains the word Brightspeed. If so be sure to read past posts on the subject. They all basically say this: In Springfield your options are Mediacom, Att, and now Brightspeed Fiber (in limited areas).
