That is the reason why though. It’s been done with every store that has opened up outside of Texas. If you didn’t know about it before, it makes you ask “why the hell would they put an advertisement for something that far away?”. When the store is nearing completion, it’ll probably say “Next Exit”… or SHOW ME BEAVER!

That billboard appeared late spring/early summer 22.

this is classic american advertising. post war times saw a lot of stuff like this. other notables that still exist are "the thing" in new mexico and Wall Drug in south dakota
