I don't go any further north than downtown these days. But I went to this Walmart recently. Oh my God, it looked like a total hell on earth blatant shop lifting, rude staff a ton of druggies all over the police. No security to speak of. They're down the street from the Greyhound so who knows what might be pouring in there. Wow, is there any attempt to remove that homeless encampment adjacent to the property?

I go to that store at least 3 times a week since I work near. I can say with 100% certainty that everything you said here is completely false. Literally all of it. Get a hobby man.

It's really not though. Source: former employee. We'd go to the north side ones to help out at least once a quarter and it's a shit show

Isn't that greyhound closed/moved? Get over yourself. This is just a normal Springfield Walmart.

Greyhound is still there

So you haven't been up there at all.

Greyhound has been operating out of the downtown bus station for awhile now, and the old building doesn't even have their branding on it anymore.

The Greyhound Station was purchased by Bass pro and is being remodeled into a health clinic for its employees.

There honestly isn't much for me to do further north than downtown. I stopped there and saw clear drug deals. Security guard who told me to fuck off. Feces in front of the store. A guy walking around covered in swastika tattoos

This is an excessive amount of strung out homeless. Please telling what's "poppin" in Southwest Missouri in general

An enormous spike in rent prices and no affordable housing for people on the poverty line, last I checked.

You know, if we had adequate shelter and places for homeless people to be, they might not be near Walmart. Have you considered devoting this energy to advocating for that?

100% didn't happen. What did happen, is the poor innocent soul up there had to stand next to somebody wearing disheveled clothes and noticed a homeless person standing outside. Their imagination did the rest.

That is normal bro, try to have some compassion the state just actively decided it was for removing the homeless at all costs

So sorry you had to travel further north than downtown. Next time try the Kansas Expressway Walmart.

grassmower04 t1_j4nay4u wrote

Isn’t that just every Walmart in town? They did go through and get all the homeless people out of that property a few years ago (plus a few bodies if I remember correctly) but from what I understand it’s a private property and the owner isn’t in state and doesn’t care I guess. Wish that our city would do some more to clean it up on the north side but it just gets neglected. The O’Rileys seems to be about it as far as trying to invest in the north side and actually bring in some business over here.

jonjonjay t1_j4nwewk wrote

No, the north ones are definitely worse. Part of it is clientele, part of it is on Walmart
