Sorry if this is weird, but I need to drop a class at MSU(dual credit situation as a high schooler) and I can’t figure it out. My counselor is of no help. Thanks!

I would recomend going to Carrington Hall on campus, start on 2nd floor records and regestration . They can walk you thru it, and when you leave you know it will be done.

^this is the best answer here probably. those administration folks in carrington will take good care of you and make sure you find an answer

Very good answer. You’ll probably need to get some signatures but if it isn’t too late, you’ll be fine. If it is “too late” talk to the instructor and tell them your situation. I bet they’ll help you out.

Do you have a .edu email address through MSU or a username for logging in through their web portal? Not sure how it works with dual-credit HS students but with regular college students there's usually a drop option either in your online schedule page or the course signup area.

Yes. I’ve tried to do that, but then it claims I don’t have a SSN on file, which I would have to to be in the class

So you're taking a course at your high school that's being taught by a high school teacher and getting dual credit for it?

Correct

I passed the high school credit and failed the college credit in Physics. I was not thrilled with starting college with the ‘F’ on my transcript.

MO state does forgiveness. If you take it again it will overwrite the previous grade. I failed college algebra twice and it’s not on my transcript at all. Took it at OTC over the summer and my transcript shows the B I got from the OTC transfer credit.

Freaking college algebra… that class & I don’t get along. How did you manage to get a B?! Please share!

I took it over the summer with Alan Papen at OTC. Its been 12 years and I still remember his name because of how great of a teacher he was. Great guy, very interesting, excellent instructor. And I hate math and am not good at algebra. He made the class enjoyable.

If you got an email you can go to https://my.missouristate.edu/web/home-community/home and log in with that. And go to the registration tab and go down to "Add, Drop, or search for classes"

If not try going to this link and see if you can fix it there. https://www.missouristate.edu/Registrar/Students/registration.htm

You may not be able to access it since I went through the student cite.

If that doesn't work just email the registrar; They handle all classes and registration stuff.

registrar@missouristate.edu

I would get that handled sooner than later (by the end of the week if possible) because eventually it costs to drop.

You should be able to drop it by doing it on your bear account online.

Call the registrar’s office and ask them. It will save a lot of time jacking around on the missouristate.edu website. 417-836-5000. Ask for the registrar’s office. Then explain that you‘re a dual credit student and need to drop your course and don’t know how. Let them help you, and follow the steps.
