Hmmm. Gene modification in mammals, birds, and marsupials could learn enough to modify humans too...
Also, why are they so quick to take on another project when the first two seem to be years away from anything actually viable? Kinda seems like a publicity stunt and cash grab.

We are pretty far from something like that due to ethics. It may happen in china or something far away but ethics committee for things like that are pretty serious

Well, it’s hard to do anything without cash, and it’s hard to get cash if no one knows about you.
That’s why like, Tesla announced pre-order for the cyber truck—to gauge interest, get some cash in hand, and to build more interest.
Obviously this isn’t open for pre-orders, but good publicity draws in more investors.

Why not? I hear Dodos are very friendly (possibly good with kids), and failing that, also delicious.

marsupials are mammals, by the way (and so are humans).

Pretty sure the company behind this only have a few desks in a WeWork office in Austin, though I could be wrong.
They seem a long long way off from from having any sort of concrete evidence that they can actually do this.
HolyPommeDeTerre t1_j6uedlq wrote
I don't see that as a bad thing I guess unless Austin is some pretty big lab city.
From the article, most of the work is about lab and gene edition. So most of the money should go into that mainly.

I do this all the time; start a new project/hobby after finishing about 60% of my previous project/hobby.

One thing that someone will try on humans is this: doubling neuron density.
Birds have double the nerve density of mammals, allowing them to pack a ton of brainpower into small craniums. Figure out how they do that, stick it in people
