That's awesome to be able to charge that fast in a pinch, but I have to imagine that we're going to see phones warping from heat after a year or two of use. I can't begin to imagine how hot that thing gets inside.

That's why you "put the handset on to charge and hop into the shower." The shower water keeps it from getting too hot. </jk>

I'll never understand this complaint. Charging at 210w is not mandatory. Nothing is stopping you charging at 5-15w when you don't need it.

A replacement battery costs £10-15. If you have the tools, it takes 10-15 mins to change. 3-4 years of quick charging, in return for this, is a great trade.

If you don't have the tools then your local repair shop will probably charge you £30.

There are many things that determine battery lifespan. Apple iphones tend to lose 15-20% of their battery capacity within 18 months, despite being some of the slowest charging phones you can buy on the market.

As a repair technician, the honest truth? Most people drop and break their phones long before the battery degradation becomes an issue.

I guess at the price point they figured people would upgrade long before they notice the degradation in capacity.

If the guy who wrote this article really is going to take it into the shower with him, then he deserves it.
