Yes, but the stock will still go down if they are making less money than expected.

The question is if an investor can deploy that capital elsewhere for better returns in the meantime, if they believe that the semi industry is cooling in the short term.

There's definitely a dip related to cryptocurrency mining drop off, but ASML is going no where, and has no competition.
It's curious that investors would abandon such a solid investment, unless they desperately need liquidity.

My hunch: most involved in finance don't actually understand the semiconductor industry, and drop the stocks they don't understand first.
