Thats fine but get ready for gray market orders off the charts! Tired of traveling with multiple cables.

Not just multiple cables, adapters too. Sure you can get a Micro USB to C and Lightning, but those things can be lost easily.

I've got about a dozen 10-15ft USB cables, and a handful of USB adapters, just juggle between my old and new mobiles, and when guests come over.

I was so happy when I finally had all my friends, my own household and most of my gadgets all on USB-C. The only outlier right now are old headphones we're rarely using, a very old tablet I just keep around for comics (>10 years old), and my PS4 controller.

That would seem petty and misguided.

Misguided? That would be incredibly smart actually.

Tim Cook is utterly obsessed about margins.

Apple fought extremely hard against the European proposal, until they lost. Everybody in the industry knows that chargers sold by Apple are sold with a good margin $$$.

Executives within the company are also well aware that their average Apple consumer has a religious fervor for them. Regardless of the things the company has done or will do, they assume consumers will always support Apple, no matter.

They intend to profit from that. There is no reason to voluntarly reduce their margins worldwide because of a EU decision.

If this happens (and who knows), I suspect that they'll launch a better iPhone or cheaper one in the non-EU represented region with Apple's high margin proprietary charging system. However, I don't get it - economies of scale say this won't happen.

Forcing me to replace 10 years worth of accessories is anti-consumer.

DOWNVOTE ME.

It won't happen. Apple has already planned for the lack profits from lightning by not including a charger in the box.

Just skipping straight to wireless charging and getting rid of the port all together would be the ultimate side step here.
