If your Server is Linux based, is it finally updated to support ARC?

I’m still waiting for Unraid to upgrade it’s Kernel.

Cool. Windows does warn me about the file when downloading from https://handbrake.fr/ , should I be worried? It is the official site AFAIK.

Don’t worry it’s the racket industry surrounding software certificates not liking that Handbrakes developers are not paying enough bribes

Curious to see how well Av1 will work in Editing NLE’s like Premiere Pro?

If you use all intra, it will work perfectly fine as usual.

Sorry, “intra”?

BlueSwordM t1_j2caf6d wrote

All intra = all keyframes.

For video editing purposes, you want the best seeking possible, so using an all-intra mode/codec(ProRes is one) would be the most optimal choice.

So Intra is the same as progressive?

BlueSwordM t1_j2dzkfl wrote

No. Progressive frames like what found in JPEG and JPEG XL can be decoded in preview "batches" instead of being decoded sequentially.

Intra = single image encoding more simply put.

That's fantastic. Unfortunately on a Mac encoding using Apple's accelerated encoders is like 20x faster than using CPU. And Apple's encoders do not do AV1. Maybe that'll change.
