Because they aren't a shitty list website blog or gaming "news" websites.
The news is that licenses are being granted again after a pause.
Not which specific game, even though, they do mention some, and also, from a news perspective, which companies are doing new business again.

If you report on the news but don’t give details or context what’s the point

Dunno, except that it's obviously not applicable here.

The time to bar Chinese investment in media companies was some time ago. Not too late.

That would likely require sanctions, the US is still too dependent on Chinese imports to start significantly severing ties like that.

The longer we wait the harder it'll be so better to do it now while the impact will be less than wait for a better time that'll never come. We're not and never will compete with slave (or close to) labor.

A country who is able to partake in the global marketplace but they themselves are free to block access to others partaking in their market is due for a ban.

Tencent is one of the few non-govt companies within China. They operate on a very thin line with CCP values; League Of Legends is Tencent. Besides redesigns of skimpier clothed heroines (mainly Cait) and more incredibly masculine men (Sylas, redone Udyr) there has been a removal of western ideology. No mentions of Christmas, etc, like i don’t even think there’s been another Santa since Draven and Gragas.
Like honestly F China for a lot of reasons. A lot. Tencent is kind of the only thing left for the people to enjoy that has some (lol) freedom of oversight.

Arguably worse tbh. Look at tiktok and the difference between western world tiktok and China's version. It's incredibly hard to find educational videos on ours yet that's all they show in China. That has an impact on the kids viewing it and our society as a whole. Like it or not entertainment has a massive impact on countries.

That's a failure of American society. What does it say about a country where barely literate athletes can get into university just because they're good at playing hand egg? Is China to blame for universities like UNC falsifying lessons and courses for their athletes?

Is this because TikTok was banned, so now they need other data mining tools? Asking for a friend. 🙃
