Friends? Is now a show about people that definitely aren’t friends.

Isn’t kind of already like that?

From Chandler's perspective absolutely

OneGoodRib t1_ja6sr6y wrote

You mean Ross's perspective? Everyone constantly mocks him and his interests. If he wasn't Monica's brother there's no way any of them would hang out with him, they all clearly hate him, especially Phoebe.

thecolbster94 t1_ja6sw5n wrote

Well that too, But Chandler constantly mocks everyone like he's a self insert by somebody who hates the show. He's basically the proto-Brian Griffin.

ER?

Set all over the U.S. as people ponder if they are sick enough to warrant a visit to the emergency room.

Or, what if you took away the ? in a title?

Who's the Boss becomes a workplace comedy/drama about the Mayor of Who-ville and the fight to secure Federal disaster funds to help repair his tiny town after assault from an eagle. The government sends an elephant to help instead of money. Hijinks ensue and life lessons are learned.

  • I Love Lucy? (Ricky can't remember why he puts up with this shit)
  • Three's Company? (Jack finally proposes a threesome)
  • Happy Days? (Actually, the 1950s kinda sucked in a lot of ways)
  • Good Times? (Not that the 70s were much better)
  • The A-Team? (Really? These guys?)
  • All My Children? (Paternity tests pending)
  • Dark Shadows? (Try our new cooling sleep mask!)
  • 3rd Rock From the Sun? (A flat-earther's journey)
  • Reboot? (Ma'am, have you tried turning it off and on again?)

Wasn't that the point of the show?

Has Jeopardy ever accepted a response that was just a word with a question mark without an actual question marker in it ("Lost?" as opposed to "What is Lost?" or "What be Lost?" or "What's Lost?" or "When is Lost?" because they don't say the question has to be grammatically correct)

Gotham? It's about a city that has a bunch of criminals who get together and start calling themselves things like "Mr. Frost," "The Jokester," and "The Puffin." Every episode ends with the police department collectively looking at the camera and saying "if only there was some kind of a man dressed up as an animal who could solve our problems for us."

The Sopranos? The story of a group of macho men with macho voices who are surprised to discover that when they sing, for some mysterious reason, they're sopranos!

The King of Queens? A member of a group of drag queens discovers they're actually the long lost son of a king who just died, and they're first in line for the throne!

All in the Family? A family changes their detergent to All, and suddenly everyone develops special powers. It's a web series created by the makers of All detergent.

Laverne and Shirley? The plot wouldn't change, it would just be the Shirley-less last season of Laverne and Shirley.

Lil_Mcgee t1_ja5yox4 wrote

None of the plot changes you suggested are related to the addition of a question mark.
