I'm a big fan of Donald Glover. I love some of his music and ATLANTA has provided some of the best TV scenes in recent years.

So I was excited to give this show a try.

It was bad. Just so so bad.

There are no redeeming qualities... neither for the show nor the characters. There's no character development. There's barely any logic.

Basically the main character snaps and starts killing people. The first kill made sense, and it kept me watching the show to see where it goes. But it didn't go anywhere.

The main character's murders are silly. Especially one where she attacked this guy in a mansion. She somehow disabled his security, caught him when he was alone, then hit him in the knee and he was peacefully crawling away. Lol. Everything goes her way. There's no care for cameras or evidence she leaves behind. IRL she would've been caught in like a day.

It seems like this show is just a bunch of scenes strung together, trying to be something it will never be.

I was really disappointed, as I love serial killer origin stories and having a black female lead made me think this is going to be a unique entry to the genre. Boy, was I wrong.

SKIP IT.

that's really funny, so funny and unique you're the only one to make that joke!

I didn't think it was bad at all and found myself into it because I'm not a Beyonce fan and know very little about her (or her hive).

The only thing I took away from the show is that in her limited role Billie Eilish was actually pretty good and I’d like to see her do more acting going forward.

Disagree. Loved how darkly comedic it was while having a serial killer main character who was unlike anyone I have seen in this genre. I liked how they played with Dre being an unreliable narrator, so you didn't know whether what she was experiencing was real or fantasy towards the end (notably the finale). And I thought it was interesting how the show portrayed stans and toxic parasocial relationships.

isn’t this supposed to take place in the same universe as atlanta? it’s set in a surreal heightened reality, it’s not supposed to be realistic.

so the "heightened reality" is to be able to kill anyone with no consequences even though you make zero effort to hide anything you've done? ok. Lame.

how did you enjoy Atlanta? I understand not liking both if it's not your style but there are many bizarre occurrences with no logical explanations in Atlanta, so criticizing one but enjoying the other seems weird.

Atlanta was entertaining and as far as I remember there wasn't any senseless murders by the main characters. The main characters were likeable.
