I am watching and was looking at the sub for The Peripheral, and it reminded me about Awake. That show was fucking great. Really cool concept, never should have been cancelled.

That would be a perfect show for Netflix or someone to revive.

I loved that show, it was such a unique idea and I’m gutted it ended so soon, There was a foreign version made but that also only lasted a season.

Loved that show. That makes at least two unique and fascinating shows with Jason Isaacs that have been cancelled far too soon.

It sure was an interesting concept but they utterly squandered it with a really drab show.

There was a show that aired on NBC last year called "Ordinary Joe" with basically a simillar concept to Awake. Unforunately they cancelled that as well.

The premise sounds exactly as the comic book Revolver by Matt Kindt , an excellent comic by the way.

But the show is more grounded and reallistic , a good tv show cancelled too soon.

It was so good - it had a few issues, but I think it could have run for at least another season

Yeah, i didn't stick around for the finale. I dropped out at like episode 8? It was a fun show, really enjoyed the pilot but think it got too hard remembering the 3 timelines. I kept confusing them😂

The pilot was fun

if you want to see what happened after that, the posters on primetimer had... fun hatewatching the last couple of episodes

basically it became soap opera-y when it didn't need to be. It would've been best to have Nurse Joe and Police Joe timelines - then have one of those timelines be one where he starts to become a rocker

I loved Awake. It was also crazy how coincidentally as soon as the show got cancelled about halfway through the season, everything went serialized and the plot went from 0-100 lol

I was really hoping you were talking about the Netflix game show. I had a good time with that one.

Based off the trailers I knew this show wouldn’t last long, so I never bothered to watch it. I’m just curious, was there any big twist at the end of the season? I always wondered how this show could have kept its story interesting for multiple seasons. Unless there was some sort of multiversal twist or something similar, the idea of a show with three separate storylines that never interact with each other just seemed odd to me. Like, what was the ultimate goal for this show? Would it really just be three separate storylines for its entire run? I don’t see how the novelty of this show’s premise could be very sustainable.

>!With Ordinary Joe, it had three different cliffhangers: Nurse Joe kissed his son's aide/a fellow nurse and then went to see his wife who looked like she was about to cheat on him with a friend, Rocker Joe was probably going to divorce his wife for cheating on him with a congressman, cop joe was ??? (I forget(!<

At one point, it seemed like they were going to kill him off in one of the realities (which would've been amazing) since >!Rocker Joe was drinking and driving, then he saw Nurse Joe helping him when he was going in an out of consciousness!<

but basically the writers didn't know what they wanted and kept going in a bunch of randomass directions. The Rocker timeline was probably the weakest of the three, and the most.... random/nonessential - since it didn't change that much, despite him becoming a Billy Joel-esque figure in the span of ~10 years.
