In the most recent episode of The Santa Clauses, Simon attempted to make every day Christmas. Betty thought that that was a bad idea. As Simon entered a room in which he expected to see Betty, he said that he thinks he may have been too harsh with her. He then sees the note that Noel left, he tears it up and then keeps the note a secret from Betty, so that Betty never knows to call and search for Noel. When some elves start to vanish into thin air, Betty finally puts her foot down and tells Simon off, then Simon fires her. Betty goes and sees Bafana, evidently the Santa coat magically teleported to her house. The episode ends with a mysterious glove grabbing Scott's shoulder.

It is fitting that this episode premiered the night after I watched the 1971 film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and the 2005 remake Charlie and the Chocolate Factory; because giving all children everywhere everything that they want exactly when they want it will inevitably create a world of little Veruca Salt archetypes.

I believe that Simon will probably redeem himself. He will probably realize the true meaning of Christmas. In the third Santa Clause film, when Jack Frost took over the North Pole, he completely redefined the meaning of Christmas as an exercise in capitalist greed. Jack Frost did redeem himself in the end, Lucy gave him a warm hug. Perhaps Scott will teach Simon the real meaning of Christmas.
