I'd have Wendy and Marty Byrde go to jail.

ETA: Ozark isn't my favourite show but I liked it a lot until the finale.

Or into witness protection. I didn't hate the ending but I really wanted them to face some consequences.

I would have not killed off Tracey the mother in How I Met Your Mother & he would not have ended up with Robin.

Sam would have made the leap home & celebrated with his family & Al.

Well in the original run of Roseanne, Dan doesn't die, David is with Becky or Molly & Mark is with Darlene, Roseanne & Dan are divorced.

I agree Ted shouldn’t have ended up with Robin. In fact Barney and Robin shouldn’t have spent the whole season getting married just to get divorce. I was ok with the mom dying. I just wish we had more story with them too. Season 11 should have been “How I married your mother”

I thought they wrote themselves into a corner making Robin infertile in Season 6. The obvious happy ending would have been for the Mother to have been unable to conceive and for the entire story to be an elaborate introduction into who the kids bio mom really was.

I'd have Seinfeld end with them moving to a nice house in Westchester county and going to the cafe one last time while the group from Friends mocks a fat guy getting mugged and end up in prison as a result

Dexter should have stayed in that cell in New Blood resulting in a season 2 with a better fleshed out conclusion

How I met you mother definitely could use a few changes. I would not have Ted go back to Robin, the characters had too much development establishing them as better off friends and it felt incredibly regressive to make that move.

The whole last season of Castle was terrible. I would have made it a revenge fantasy where Castle and Javi chase down Lanie and Kate's assassins and Kevin has to choose between his loyalty and his duty (to the job and his family). How far will they go? Everything is filmed in hyper speed. Castle gets shot and dies. Kevin shoots Castle's assassin. Javi takes the fall so Kevin can stay 'clean' and then Javi gets a realistic ending. Paid leave.

i preferred season 1 of charles in charge , the original family was best

aa to your question, i would change new girl by eliminating the final season

it ended well enough in season 6

i don't like how they all became successful . it was too neat and they were no longer funny but boring

I thought the Breaking Bad finale (honestly most of season 5 part 2) did Jesse kind of dirty. They sort of made up for it w El Camino though.

Him driving off, finally free of Walt and the Nazis, everyone who hurt his is dead. Seemed like a good ending at the time.

Yeah I don't think it's bad, just a little less than what I wanted to Jesse at the end. But like I said they made up for it so no skin off my ass.

I wonder if Charles in Charge was canceled after they had completed that Season already.

That's the problem with a lot of the "finales". They're not designed to be one.

Good point.

I wonder the same about the last episode of Married With Children.

It didn't seem like a "finale".

Better Call Saul. The whole Lalo confrontation should have been the finale. Since it wasn't, everything after felt anti-climactic. also what Kim did was upsetting, I know Saul was a not a good guy but I wish he got a happier ending. He was punished for being good in the end.

TwoBlackDots t1_iy0a5iw wrote

The point is that you can't be terrible your entire life and then be rewarded for it. He was emotionally rewarded for doing good, but if he was actually rewarded he wouldn't have been doing good at all.

I'm not sure why what Kim did being upsetting is a bad thing, the characters already did way worse.

This seems like a major misread of the finale, favoring the flashy shootout over the actual end of the characters' arcs.

Nzaid t1_iy17i9k wrote

It's not that I misread the finale, I understood it, I just didn't find it 'satisfying,' which was the OPs question.

Horrible people do terrible things and get rewarded everyday, it's not exactly out of the ordinary. Also the 'Upsetting' thing Kim did was suddenly grow a conscience and ruin her life by confessing, which is what made Saul give up his amazing deal to protect her. I would have preferred to see her happy with someone else with some kids running around so that when Saul called her she'd tell him to fuck off.

I wasn't specific because I wanted to avoid spoilers, but yeah. As I said before, answering OPs question, the Lalo thing should have been in the Finale. I would have changed the editing on the flash-forwards, so that the 'flashy shootout' was in the final episode before the ultimate conclusion.

The final scene should have been Jimmy playing tennis with some inside-traders, embezzlers, and ponzi schemers. Then going to his 'cell' and sit in a nice chair in front of a TV with a remote in one hand and a Mint-Chip ice cream cone in the other. The camera pans right in front of him and he licks the cone and points the remote right into the face of the camera to change the channel and then the screen goes black.

that's what I would change. That's just my opinion.

I hated the ending of The Americans. No consequences at all. I expected the spies would end up either dead or in prison, or one of each.

Daenyrys turns those dragons on the white walkers so we still get some cool dragon action and maybe a real dragon fight between the ice dragon and a fire breathing one. She reigns as queen and Jon Snow goes back to the wall to maintain his vigil as Commander of the Night's Watch. Sansa gets the Riverlands and also becomes Queen in the North, Arya still gets to sail away into the sunset.
