I loved HIGHLANDER. It was a pretty good show and Adrian Paul, in my mind, was a lot better than Christophe Lambert.
That said, I felt Duncan killing Richie is where I finally had enough. Not that I liked Richie, he was annoying and I liked Tessa more, but it ran against Duncan's character to do what he did, even if he was being mind controlled.
Also, I hated how much they tried to shove Methos and Amanda down our throats on the last seasons.

Also, I just looked up Stan Kirsch since I haven't kept up with any of these folks since my childhood. Maybe I shouldn't have. Suicide by hanging in 2020. :(

I used to watch it in syndication late night. When he killed Richie my stomach felt as if somebody punched it. I was in shock.
Is that the one where Duncan fights himself in an underground cell or something like that?
The last season was such a haze. It's such a bummer Stan Kirsch didn't want to travel anymore. Also, those flashback episodes with Fitz were pretty meh as well.
The last season was barely Highlander at all. It was like they were just testing a bunch of spinoff concepts. I liked pretty much the whole run prior to that.
Endgame was okay, The Source was absolute dogshit that was clearly some other movie hastily adjusted to be able to slap "HIghlander" on it.

Turns out being able to see helps a lot when trying to play the lead of an action series.
I think I quit watching soon after Duncan killed Ritchie. It was during that period when he refused to kill anyone with his sword yet somehow still had to get in life or death fights every week.
To be honest, the show was objectively very bad all the way through. How many times did someone pull a hidden broadsword out of their skin tight jeans? It was just utterly ridiculous. But it was also pretty entertaining for the first two or three seasons.
Highlander: The Raven was really bad. Was that what it was called? Am I remembering correctly?
Your opinions are strange to me. Amanda and Methos were the best characters in the show along with Joe.
I think they shoved Amanda down our throats because they were trying toget a spinoff with her off the ground. I think it only lasted for one season.
That's the thing I didn't get because Amanda was a terrible fighter. She could barely use a sword and lost nearly every fight she had. She only survived because she was smart or she had someone to protect her.
What I heard was that originally they were going to use another female highlander, the one Duncan fought and put up a good fight, but she was such a bad actress that they decided to use Elizabeth Gracen, who, was a fan fave, so they then made her a recurring character.
I think she was supposed to more of a catwoman character, getting by on her wit and feminine wiles.

I never watched the last season. I liked it up to the start of the dark quickenings.
When one of them got pushed into oncoming traffic for some sort of a joke, then they just cut to the next scene. Driver probably got injured and PTSD from hitting a person, cops would have been called and a potential murder investigation would have been underway, etc.

They should have just had him win the game at the end instead of blinding churning out one backdoor pilot after another.
The highlander was a documentary and the events were based in real time.

I'm not saying it was a shark jump, just that it didn't age well. It was probably bad when it came out, but I was too young to care.
And yeah, the possession stuff was really lame. I remember thinking it made the show drag. It took all the fun out of the show.
I remember and I was disgusted by it. Or when Duncan kills a Holocaust victim because he wanted to protect a Nazi sympathizer.

I remember trying to watch it on Netflix around ten or so years ago, and it was hit or miss.
I stopped my rewatch when I got to the episode Ritchie has an "Of Mice & Men" story with a mentally handicapped immortal.
Adult me definitely didn't appreciate it as much as 13 year old me.
The Paris season was pretty good. No annoying sidekick, it was just Duncan adjusting to a new life.
