I already have lol. There's the "Gilded Lilys" pilot from ABC trying to make an American Downton Abbey, the "Big Thunder" pilot also from ABC based off the Disney park ride, and "Drew" which was CBS' attempt to make a Nancy Drew show a few years before the CW made theirs.

Julian Fellowes wasn't involved, so it wasn't the actual Downton prequel that morphed into The Gilded Age.

Interesting to know. Should be an interesting watch.

That show did get a season pickup but was shelved. It's very morbid but I still want to know if that show was really shelved because of the co-creator's death or if there were other reasons. That first one, 1% on HBO, is interesting. It's from the same year Sons of Anarchy premiered and the shows look very similar with a bunch of actors that would later appear on Sons. I wonder which show inspired the other? Just browsing through it I can see why they dropped it. seems like just 3 or 4 scenes of the bikers sitting around eating in various places. Also Sons definitely had better casting for the main crew. These guys just look too much like actors playing a part. Kurt was smart to hire a few real bikers to fill out his cast.
Also no "Open" pilot which is a major bummer. Who the fuck casts Anna Torv on a raunchy artsy HBO show about Sex and Lesbians and then cancels it before airing the pilot!?!

I watched "Drew" last night. It deviates greatly from the books and uses the character names. Still, it was an interesting watch and it did give off the vibe of "The Nancy Drew Files" which was a books series in the 1980s that was darker and grittier than the classic books. Not sure about the NYC detective angle but I guess they didn't want to do another small town mystery series yet again (not that the NYC choice was any better).
This was passed over by CBS who decided to pick up "Doubt" instead, which was another pilot written by the same people who wrote "Drew". That ended up being cancelled so it's up in the air whether or not "Drew" would have done better or not.

The documentary filmmaker Michael Moore was involved in the development of a series in the 90s called Better Days, which took place in a midwestern town where their auto plant went under. I believe it was to star Jim Belushi and Chris Elliot? He talked about it once on his podcast. It sounded interesting and seemed set to have the social commentary that Moore was known for. Which was a problem. He said it was set to air in the fall, CBS I believe was going to pick it up, the audience scores were really good. Then top advertisers threatened to pull their advertising since it wasn't going to be a corporate friendly show and CBS deep-sixed it. I'd always wanted to see that pilot.
Pity, just checked and it's not on there.

Jane Alexander, Peter Strauss, Andrew McCarthy, all slumming it in some corporate intrigue nighttime soap opera where rival corporations are owned by different families of actual witches. “Life On The Hill”: not too bad for a sitcom. Surprised it didn’t get picked up (though hopefully they would have dumped the voiceover).
Wendy Malick plays a Nancy Pelosi like figure on Capitol Hill, and Mark Moses from Desperate Housewives is her foil from across the aisle. Plot is focused mostly on the misadventures of the younger subordinates who try to keep things working in her office. Think Spin City meats HIMYM. Also features Michelle Trachtenberg of Buffy fame. Humor could have been just a touch more cynical. Fun potential for additional humorous caricatures of lobbyists, senators, etc. as the show went on.
