It's not to say that later Law and Order is bad, in fact most of the episodes like the older ones are passable. Once in awhile you get a really good one, but most tend to be middle of the pack. I expect that. What has changed is that some newer episodes have plots that are way too convoluted. It doesn't happen often, but once in awhile you get a real stinker. I never experienced that with the older episodes. Yeah you got some forgettable episodes, but nothing like this.

For example. I was on Prime Video and one of episodes called "Vanity's Bonfire" got way too silly for me to care.

i think it just spun its wheels at having too little new stuff to go on.. There was one awful episode from before cancellation where someone gets murdered like every commercial break. I was like "what the fuck am i watching".
