Mr. Robot. So many people unfortunately bailed during the odd (but important) slow burn season 2 and never got the beautiful payoff.

The Leftovers as well. Season 1 is so dark and bleak but it really transformed into something magnificent with the last two seasons.

Mad Men, The Prisoner, Six Feet under, the White Lotus (both seasons), Winning Time, in fact many many series have great endings. The ones that have bad endings are however thrashed (Lost, Dexter)

I've considered watching Six Feet Under many times but it's just hard to approach. The synopsis is like the least interesting thing I've read in a minute, just doesn't seem like an interesting premise for a show.

How would you describe it to someone if you had to sell them on it? Ik this is a hard question, because I've been flustered in the past thinking of ways to sell one of my friends on Succession. I'm familiar with prestige HBO shows, how they're often episodic, very character driven, without much emphasis on plot. Succession, which I love, is the same way. But SFU's from the era when they were also incredibly slow. The Sopranos is a good example, it's a great show but each episode really makes you feel the hour go by.

Honestly just knowing that you like Succession is enough of a reason to recommend it. They're different for sure, but I would expect a lot of overlap in fanbase. Excellent ensemble cast, centered on an interesting family. Well written, great as a drama but with a very dark sense of humor. I watched it for the first time 10+ years ago, but re-watched it it recently and still loved it.

Angel's fifth and final season is the best of the entire show.

Twin Peaks' third season is also the best it ever was, although as a revival that's not quite the same as a regular final season.

Assuming you survive the heart-stopping moments of anxiety during the show, the final manages to mix a heart-rending moment with a bitter-sweet ending (especially due to what we know about future events the characters wouldn't know at the time). Subsequent events would weigh heavily on all the decisions made by the characters at the end (and make it even more poignant as time passes).

Lost. Lost had a genuinely good final season and final episode and I cry every time >!they all finally reunite in the afterlife and Ben rejects because he doesn’t feel worthy enough yet!<

Honestly, I find Six Feet Under more accessible than Succession. SFU is more of a character-based drama, but the pilot episode throws you into the show and its overall themes quite quickly. Additionally, there is plenty of humor and moments of magical realism that add enough distraction for it not to feel "slow." Additionally, most of the characters start out incredibly likeable and only with time become less sympathetic.

Cougar Town. I know it gets a lot of hate, mainly from the title, but they knew they were on their final season so they made sure to be as genuine as possible with every character. Bobby left to work on another show so they made him get picked up for a chance at pro golfing. Andy and Ellie switched roles so Andy became a stay at home dad and Ellie went back to working as a lawyer. Travis and Laurie moved onto the caul de sac and everyone truly got a chance to get a genuine wrap up to their story. Surprised me how good it was since a lot of shows will give up once they're cancelled.

The show not explicitly tying up every single thing doesn’t make it a bad ending. There’s plenty to infer from what they give you - the machine resuming its activities tells you that it’s likely to use the other (and possibly more) teams that we don’t know about, it clearly implies Shaw is going to continue to work the numbers, and there’s no reason to not think Fusco didn’t continue on as a detective.

This answer deserves more love. There were problems on the way to the final season, but that ending is wonderful. Jack ending his time on the island in the exact place he started with Vincent by us side is beautiful.

The Office The final season has big ups and downs but the film episode is really great

It’s full of all the feels, creed gets to sing, and Dwight fires Jim, to help them more money as Jim and Pam leave the company.

And of course the famous line from Andy “I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days before you've actually left them.”

Can you handle watching spoiled, privileged people self-sabotage and shoot themselves in the foot nonstop and still feel sympathy for them and become attached? If so, this is your show. If not, then perhaps not.

Parks and Rec. Went to the future to answer everything you would want to know about the characters and was really sweet and funny.

Only bad thing is that they probably couldn't do another episode since it is all resolved.
