The possibilities really are endless.

I'd love a Donna Noble comedic spinoff where she investigates alien phenomena, only to realize they're hoaxes or elaborate pranks.

Or a show with some past companions who form their own alien task force and patrol the Earth in the Doctor's stead, like a Torchwood 4.0.

At this point I assume that's what all former companions are up to. Sarah Jane, Donna, Tegan, Ace, Martha, Mickey, and Graham have all been shown getting into alien shenanigans Post-Doctor. The end of the last special even showed them forming a support group.

They just released a trailer for a Blu-ray collection of series 9 back in the 70s - and the trailer is a mini-adventure featuring Jo Grant and a Sea Devil. Yeah, they're marketing a Blu-ray box set with a reminder that 50 years later Jo is still having adventures. What other franchise does things like that?

Yeah the support group is what made me think of all the past companions still out there. As someone who didn't watch the original series I think it would be fun to see those companions and flashbacks to earlier adventures. DW had such a rich (if not convoluted) history - they should tap into it!

yea honestly, a companion show seems pretty likely as the first big earth focused spin-off.

As for Daleks and Cybermen and whats next, could be anyone's guess, but Doctor Who does leave for a lot of really good potential ideas.

The Big Finish series I, Davros would be a great Game Of Thrones style sci-fi epic.

The Doctor could even visit a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...

Yeah it's always neat when they do those ridiculously long call-backs. Like when The Witch's Familiar had Davros still salty about Genesis of the Daleks from 40 years ago lol
