(M)e 38yo took my wife and kids for dinner to an awesome pizza joint. Ordered them an extra pizza to take home for leftovers over the weekend. I put the other half of my meatball sub in the box and went to pay the bill. Wife and kids went to the restroom. They came out of the restroom and walked up to me.

"Are we ready to go dad", my daughter asks?

"You bet" her dumbass dad says.

I then turn and walk out with my family, completely forgetting about the large delicious pizza with half a sub in the box, and leave it sitting on the table.

2 hours later:

Wife asks, "Did you put the pizza away, I don't see it in the fridge?"

As soon as the words leave her mouth, I knew instantly, TIFU!

Called the pizza place instantly, but nobody knew anything about a complete leftover pizza with a sub in the box.šŸ˜

TL;DR: Idiot father leaves delicious whole pizza and half a sub on table when leaving.

This story is so fucking boring that a person that has a wife and kids wouldn't even THINK of posting. And if you DID have a wife and kids, go be with your fucking wife and kids. Reddit is a cool place, but it's not something to post your miserable life to

We've done this many a-time with take-away boxes. It's easy to forget, especially with spousal and little-one distractions. I can't say we've ever left a large pizza box behind, but still...dont beat yourself up. Shit happens!

Just think the positive way, the whole pizza is a blessing to another person.

Nothing about this post is miserable. I think youā€™re projecting, and taking out your frustrations from your miserable life on a post about a lost pizza. Reddit is a cool place, but not something to vent your misdirected anger to.

2 hours? You didn't remember even when you got home? Maybe they should have someone else handle stuff like this in the future...

This is not 100% on you, youā€™re not the only adult in this situation, and Iā€™m sure kids who are food motivated would be looking forward to it and should notice no one walked out with the food.

I did that once, except it was left over steak and some sides from a really good 4* restaurant. I had it all wrapped up, paid the bill and took it outside to the valet area (which is inside another building). We drive away and 5 mins realized what happened, so I turned around and went back thinking it would still on the bench where I left it. The valet guy who was helping me went on break and my delicious steak was gone (presumably in Mr Valetā€™s belly). That was fine by meā€¦ hopefully he enjoyed it as much as I did!

I feel the frustration at the waste of money my man, half a sub and a large pizza is close to 30 bucks now days. And thatā€™s from like dominos, a proper pizzeria you were probably pushing close to $40.

My condolences for your pizza my dude.

Dude, hope someone else picked it up, who really needs it.

If it makes you feel any better, I forget stuff all the time. Once on holiday in the Florida Keys (from the UK but living in Kuwait at the time), I drove 10km from beach to hotel with the boot (trunk for the Yanks on here) wide open. Got all the way there without realizing and the only thing that fell out of the back was the rucksack, with the passports in them šŸ«£. Needless to say, I rushed back to the spot, where some local fellow took great delight in filming the handing of the rucksack that heā€™s held onto for half an hourā€¦Iā€™m probably on YouTube somewhere, under ā€œdumbass Brit drives off with trunk openā€ šŸ™ˆšŸ˜‚
