Okay so I (F21) love my boyfriend (M23) but he has been quite obsessed with playing 2k recently. He has been going out less with me and spending like 4 hours a day playing 2k. I’ve tried to get his attention by dressing up more and trying to look hotter and it worked a few times but it had been getting even harder to get his attention. So today, we were supposed to go on a double date with my sister and her boyfriend, and he hadn’t even showered by the time I was ready. I told him to get off his game and get ready. He started arguing back and told me to leave and I said “do you play virtual basketball so much because you can’t handle that even I could dunk on you” I said this to kind of lighten the situation and make a joke but he did not laugh. For context he is not super tall, I’m taller than him but I like that and I don’t like dating taller guys. He got really mad though and told me he was going to stay at his parents for the night. I was kind of taken aback because I really didn’t think it was a big deal but it kind of makes sense. One time a few months ago we I said that short guys were my type I don’t really remember the context but he got mad at me for that too. I mean I was insecure about being tall growing up but I also had 8 sisters who would constantly hype me up so it wasn’t much of a problem. I guess I should stop pointing it out that he is short.
TL;DR ~ my boyfriend was playing 2k too much and I got mad at him and told him he plays virtual basketball because he can’t handle that I could dunk in him as a joke but he is insecure about being short/me being taller than him so he got mad and went to his parents for the night and isn’t answering my calls.
