My24f mom57f is coming back tomorrow after being overseas for the past couple of weeks. I have my own car and my mom has a 2019 Range Rover. While I love my mom, she really likes to find stuff to complain about, so knowing this, I try to make sure everything is right for her when she comes home. Last time she got mad that my brother didn’t wash her car or put gas in it as he usually drives it. I never drive her car because I have my own but tonight I took her car to put some gas into it and get it cleaned as she’s coming tomorrow morning and a lady hit me on the road.

I’ve never been in a wreck before so I was so scared and it happened so fast. She said I was at fault and I probably was, I didn’t see her car but I foolishly admitted to being at fault when I learned after the fact to never do that. The police ended up not writing a report but my moms car started acting up on the way home and I ended up having to get it towed. I was calling everywhere and they either didn’t pick up or said they were too far away.

A random tow truck sees me and honestly probably took sympathy from how scared I was. They dropped my car at their body shop, drove me home, and they didn’t charge me. The guy said that the damage is relatively minor but with new cars, with any accident, the computers start malfunctioning and the car shuts down. He said they could fix it no problem I just have to file a claim.

I think I was just really shaken up being that it’s not my car but I got so blessed today in more ways than I could imagine. No one was injured , cars both had relatively minor damage, we had insurance, the tow people found me randomly and I had no tow fee. My brother is going to use my car to pick my mom up and calm her down on the long car ride home. I realized I fucked up big time but I don’t know if it’s god or the universe or what but something was looking out for me.

TLDR I got into an accident with my moms luxury car

I mean as long as my kid is OK the car can be fixed. From what you seem to say she might be different.

I know, but at the end of the day all she will or can do is yell. Plus if she kills me who will pay the deductible(s) lol. Okay that’s not funny and I understand how serious this could have been but it the fact that I can and will pay her deductible plus the other women’s if the insurance says I have to, I can. I have a $1000 emergency fund that I have put away over the years to buffer situations like this. I understand she’s going to be mad, I’d be upset too, but she has been in her fair share of accidents so I’m just praying she will understand that everyone is safe and uninjured and that’s really what matters

$1000 doesn’t go very far with car repairs, especially Land Rover repairs.

$1000 is the price for the deductible assuming I have to pay for both vehicles. We both have insurance

Just dropped my 2010 Lexus at the repair shop. Front drivers side and rear drivers side damage. Not at fault and it seems that each area was going to be like 3K.

If the damage is relatively minor it might not be worth going through the insurance company and losing the no claims discount (if you have such a thing where you live).
