What you said to her was, at worst, a dumb something you said while drunk. If it triggered that kind of reaction imagine what you would have to face, when you'd get a random text from a girl you know, or you wouldn't love the way she makes coffee.

"Doesn't particularly hate me"

That relationship would likely go nowhere, if she cried at a joke after saying that line. I'd honestly take that as a mild rejection and move on, I wouldn't expect anything from someone after such a vague and disinterested reply.
