TIFU by eating popcorn

I love popcorn. I eat it like daily. Sometimes a couple times a day.

So I had a date with this lady and she was a real pretty thing but you could tell she was kind of energetic. A little bit anxious and bouncy. Let's call her A...nxiety.

To counter that, I made our first date have some activities like walking, bowling, etc. after a movie.

So on the day of our date, I wake up and run my typical morning routine. I make myself a huge bowl of popcorn and melt a bunch of butter over it.

After a little while, I spruce myself up a little and head up to the theater.

Anxiety had already driven up to the theater and was waiting for me, but no issues. Got out of the car and ran up and gave me a quick hug.

That's when things went sideways. Not the hug. Her face.

"So you already went on a date." Anxiety says plainly. More of an accusation than a question.

"What? Huh?" I respond, very confused.

"I'm not an idiot /u/GenericRedditUsername. I can tell." she says.

"What in the hell are you talking about?" I responding, sure that she must be kidding!

"Oh my gosh. I'm done." she groaned, turned around, got back in her car, and left.

I decide to sit in the theater for a bit since I had already bought the tickets. I chill in the recreational area as I tried to process what just happened. Joke about it a bit with a couple folks while texting her. No response for a few minutes, and then I get this.

"/u/GenericRedditUsername guess what I know you think you're oh so smart and slick or whatever but I COULD SMELL THE POPCORN. I don't know what kind of idiot you think I am but I'm not going through this again. Bye."

Suddenly an oh shit moment on my side. I tried explaining things to her but Anxiety immediately blocked my # on texts and my profiles on social media.

I never saw or heard from her again. I saw the movie, went home and dwelled on my life over a bowl of freshly made stove-popped popcorn with extra butter.

TL;DR

Ate popcorn before a movie date. She thought I already went on another date because I smelled like popcorn. Immediate breakup and blocking of number and on social media.
