Fries at shake shack in NYC are $3.99, direct from the shake shack app. Not sure what this guy was ordering but he mentions Uber eats, where all the prices are jacked up. The new "hot ones" fries come with cheese and bacon and spicy sauce and those are 7.59, but that's definitely more than a standard order of fries.

Shake shack employees also get a full slate of benefits and paid more than minimum wage, so eating there costs more than say, McDonald's. The food is also higher quality.

Uhh no it was the manager who asked me to order via UberEats pick up because they don’t allow walk-in on that day. He said he will process refund via app.

Sounds like you’re caught in the middleman loop, so there’s the shake shack point of sale system processing the refund which has to go through Ubereats (still confused why they’re involved) and then your bank/card company, most refunds are not immediate (as LITTLE as 30 days in some cases) and your case has multiple stages. The main fuck up in this story is how much time you have spent seeking a refund over getting the wrong fries but sounds like you’ve come out ahead with bonus fries
