For outlook it depends on receivers policy as well, otherwise they get a request to recall; which makes them look closer at the email, best way is to add a 2min+ delay on all outbound emails (known as the career saver) so you can delete it when you accidently send.

What I like to do is fully type the email and read it before even putting the recipient in the address bar. Reduces sending a message prematurely

Especially when ctrl+enter sends, I've had more than one colleague send a half finished email because they managed to hit ctrl...

I set my Outlook up like this after I accidentally caused a data breach. It's saved me multiple times.

Also I've made this specific typo by accident so many times, but thankfully always spotted it! I've switched to "best wishes" now. Much safer.
