So I don’t normally drink a lot of coffee. But today I decided to just get a venti americano from Starbucks at only around 3pm.

And I started to feel the effects on my studying a couple hours later. It was a really good flow and I studied probably till 8 PM of deep learning.

I even had a 2 mile run at 8 then had dinner and went to bed by 10 which is my normal routine. But I just laid in bed not falling asleep. I would just be in a strange lukewarm state of wanting to fall asleep. And I am not exaggerating when I say that I was simply awake the whole night.

By 5am I realized I might as well have an early start to the day and get out of bed. But now I have a lab in 2 hours and my exam at 7pm. I really needed a good night sleep but now I’m already mentally exhausted. Uhhh. And it was literally only one cup of coffee too. What does Starbucks put in their drinks?!

Tl;DR I drank one venti Starbucks coffee and that prevented me from sleeping at all in the night prior to having an exam.

Exercising that late, especially running can make hard for me to sleep.

That much coffee that late in the day is a bad idea too.

You might have some extra stress from the exam keeping you awake.

A Venti Americano has four shots of espresso. Not the best idea at 3p, particularly if you don't drink coffee regularly. Be glad that you didn't have a Venti drip brew, there's even more caffeine in that.

The real FU is flexing that you can afford college AND Starbucks in this economy.

Try to fit in a nap sometime before the exam, not too long though or you'll be even more tired. More coffee will not help, just in case you're considering that

Only one thing left to do - drink another coffee to get through the exam.
